Panassac crackerjack

Our Comedy Theatre Lunches run got off to a great start at Austins in Panassac. Both Saturday and Sunday performances were played to full houses. The opening Alan Bennett monologue was very well received. Its wry observations of 1950s café culture struck a chord with the audience. The Stephen Fry monologue parodied Alan Bennett's recollections and in contrast to the former's ironic understatement gave an exaggerated and, at times, ludicrous perception of the English north-south divide.
Our specially adapted one-act play Auditions had the audience in fits with spontaneous applause breaking out on several actor's exits — something more associated with individual performances at a jazz concert. The cast enjoyed the experience every bit as much as the audiences.
We move on now to Marciac on Saturday 16th then to Castéra Verduzan on Sunday 17th. Sorry, but we're sold out!

We had a technical and dress rehearsal session today in the village hall at Ste-Dode. Tomorrow we open in Panassac at Austins. We are so looking forward to performing the real thing after four weeks of rehearsals. Despite having seen everything many times over the cast and crew are still laughing out loud at some of the on-stage antics. If you are coming to one of our four performances we hope you will enjoy it. If you do, tell your friends as we will be staging another event in the autumn.
